In a hearty conversation with none other than actress, Pooja Sharmaa aka Mahakaali herself, she talks about the success of the show, how has it been for her career and not doing typical soaps.
What has the role of Mahakaali - Anth Hi Aarambh Hai added to your career graph?
You have successfully carried the show on your shoulders. Comment.
I feel blessed, I was chosen for this role. It tested my capacities in all ways possible but I am happy that we emerged victorious. It gave me an immense range as a performer, and I am thrilled with the response. If I could do that, then I feel I am more confident as a performer now.
You must be into the character every day, so how do you unwind when you get out it?
Every day, what is
the highlight of your routine?
Actually reporting on the shooting floor and meeting the entire cast and crew along with the fun interactions we have, while creating some good work is the highlight.
What do you do in
terms of fitness?
I would like to do a lot of yoga. As of now, I do it sparingly or not at all, but I plan to take it more seriously. I just keep thinking of exercising, than actually doing it.
What do you love to eat?
People talk about
women empowerment and your character highlights woman's strength.
Express your views on the same.
See, I have grown up in a family where there was never any discrimination between boys and girls. I was always loved, nurtured and adored. This nurturing gives me a lot of strength that here I am today actualizing all my dreams and leading a fulfilled life. So I feel women empowerment starts at family level. Right from their childhood, we need to nurture and cherish our girls as capable individuals and constantly remind them of their innate strength. Also, when at a family level, we start respecting our women it will have a ripple effect on society.
Your producer
Siddharth Kumar Tewary had visualised you in this role and you have
excelled successfully. Do you agree?
That I think is a question I feel Siddharth Sir should answer. I can only say I am grateful he choose me and I am thrilled and humbled by the response.
What is the best
compliment you have got for the show?
Honestly too many to mention, but if I have to then I think my when Mahakaali initially started I remember a lot of people including my writer Utkarsh sir clarifying on social media that it was me the same girl playing both Kaali and Parvati because a lot of people thought it was 2 different people. As an actor, I was most excited to portray this range between the soft and vulnerable Parvati to the ferocious and powerful Kaali. So I was very happy with this confusion.
