"Many people told me not to take up Siki's character"

Says Sikander Kharbanda who shares about his comic role as Siki in a serious show like Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and also talks about his real life persona.

Sikandar Kharbanada who started his career in Kausautii Zindagii Kay as Anuraj Basu's (Cezzane Khan) brother has been part of many other shows  as well. The actor is currently seen as Siki in Madubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors.

TellyBuzz decided to have a chit chat with him to  know more about his comic timing in the show as well as his real life persona.

When asked Sikander about his role as Siki in the show Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon he said, "I love my role. I have been in this industry for almost 10 years now and I believe in doing a role in a popular show rather than doing a lead role in not that popular show."

"In fact, I would say that I am the only fun loving element in a serious show. I like the character as I have been appreciated a lot for the same. This show after Kausatii Zindagii Kay gave me recognition which was due on my part. I never left acting and I  was always on screen but somehow I wasn't noticed ever. But after doing Madhubala I was noticed and my performance was loved and appreciated by the viewers. Madhubala is a very serious show and everyone's acting is also serious, they sob, they have high end drama but Sikki is one such character who actually makes people laugh and that too he has a wife who is in a negative role," he added.

He has loads of fan following and shared his nuances with fans, Sikander says, "Yes, there are fans incidents in real life too. One of my friend told me that her ailing grandmother wanted to meet me after seeing Madhubala and when I went there to speak to her she was like you are pretty normal and not as dumb as you are shown in the show. I burst out laughing and said that's just a character and I am not the same in real life."

On being quizzed about his real and reel life, Sikander says, "I am very different in real life. I am more of practical person than an emotional person. I know what I am doing is right but somehow I have a sense of understanding towards it. People told me not to take up this role but I knew  that I was right in my decision."

Sikander shares a very mutual and cordial rapport with his co-star Deepali and other co-stars as well in the show, "Deepali (Seema Mishra) is a very professional actor and she has a sense of understanding. You guys can see it on screen as well. I am a comic element while she is  in negative role but we did have few romantic sequences in between and people thought that Siki and Deepali (Seema Mishra)are falling in love. Vivian Dsena is a nice human being  as he is also  a professional person. We have usual Hi's, Hello's on the sets. Drashti Dhami is a good friend and a very promising actress and from the very first episode I told her she would win Jhalak."

As Sikander has been in the industry for more than years now, he has a small advice for the new comers, "I would like to say that the youngsters should respect and value their work and  should not take it for granted in any way."

Last but not the least he gave a message to his fans, "I would like to tell all my fans that keep watching Madhubala and keep loving me."
