Manoj Muntashir claims threat to life amidst 'Adipurush' controversy; receives protection from Mumbai police

The highly-anticipated film Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, finally hit theatres on June 16. Directed by Om Raut and written by Manoj Muntashir, the film was expected to be a grand cinematic experience. However, since its release, Adipurush has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons, leaving audiences disappointed and questioning the decisions made by the makers.

The poor execution of visual effects has left many feeling let down, considering the massive budget and the anticipation surrounding the film.

Another aspect that has drawn severe criticism is the film's dialogues, which have been deemed crass and offensive. Social media platforms have been inundated with negative comments, as netizens express their discontent with lines like 'bua ka bagicha hain kya' (is it your aunt's garden?) and 'jalegi tere baap ki'  These dialogues, considered distasteful and disrespectful, have ignited a wave of backlash against writer Manoj Muntashir.

As the negative comments continued to pour in, Manoj Muntashir claimed a threat to his life, prompting him to seek protection. Mumbai Police responded to his request and provided him with security. Confirming the situation, a police official stated, "We have received an application from Manoj Shukla and we are considering providing him with security following a threat to his life." Authorities are currently investigating the matter to ensure the safety of the writer.

In response to the growing uproar, Manoj Muntashir took to Twitter to address the controversy. In a lengthy note, he revealed that the makers of Adipurush have acknowledged the concerns raised by the audience and have decided to revise some of the dialogues that have hurt sentiments. While this may serve as a small consolation to those offended, it remains to be seen whether these revisions will be enough to quell the discontent surrounding the film.
