Manoj Bajpayee's upcoming film "Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai" faces legal trouble from Asaram Bapu's Trust

Manoj Bajpayee's upcoming film "Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai" has been making waves since the trailer was released earlier this week. The film, inspired by real-life incidents, follows the story of a lawyer named PC Solanki, who takes on a powerful Godman in a rape case of a minor girl under the POCSO Act.

The trailer received a positive response from the audience, who quickly identified the Godman in the film as Asaram Bapu, the self-styled Godman who was convicted for the rape of a minor girl in 2018.

However, Asaram Bapu's charitable trust has now issued a legal notice against the film makers, asking for a prohibitory order against the promotion and release of the film. 

As per their lawyers, the film is highly objectionable and defamatory towards their client and can harm his reputation and hit the sentiments of his devotees and followers.

The film's producers, Practical Productions, have bought the rights to make a biopic on PC Solanki, and they have stated that the film is not based on Asaram Bapu. They have received the legal notice, and their lawyers will decide on the next move.

The controversy has raised concerns about the freedom of expression in the film industry, and how the legal battle will unfold remains to be seen.
