Following Rohit's death, his family reported the incident to the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), who recovered his body and sent it for examination. Police confirmed multiple injuries on Rohit's body. An autopsy at Guwahati Medical College Hospital revealed wounds on the head, face, and other parts.

The family has alleged murder, citing a recent parking dispute where three individuals - Ranjit Basfore, Ashok Basfore, and Dharam Basfore - allegedly threatened Rohit's life. They also implicated Amardeep, a gym owner who reportedly invited Rohit to the outing.

The family's allegations have led to a murder investigation, with police focusing on the individuals involved in the parking dispute and Amardeep's potential role in the events leading to Rohit's death.

While police investigate further, the presence of multiple injury marks on Rohit's body raises serious concerns. “An autopsy was performed at Guwahati Medical College Hospital on Monday. Multiple injuries were discovered on the body, including wounds on his head, face, and other parts. We are investigating the case, but the four accused are on the run," an official said.

Rohit had been giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Family Man through his Instagram posts since last year. In a November update, he shared photos with co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Dalip Tahil, writing, "Lucky to have such a great experience."

Meanwhile, FilmiBeat reports that "The Family Man" Season 3 is expected to premiere after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025. The IPL season is scheduled to begin on March 22 and end on May 25, 2025. Given the show's past release patterns, it's likely the creators will factor this timeline into their plans. Speculation also suggests a potential Diwali 2025 release for "The Family Man" Season 3.
