Mannara Chopra reveals 'resuming work' in the first statement post father’s death; Read note

Mannara Chopra, cousin of Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, lost her father, Raman Rai Handa, at June 16. In her first statement since her father's passing, Mannara Chopra expressed gratitude for the support she's received. The actress has now resumed her work.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you’ve shown to me and my family during these tough times. Resuming work now, with gratitude in my heart," her statement read.

Netizens rallied around Mannara, offering support and encouragement. Comments flooded social media with wishes for her luck and strength. "You're strong and capable, Mannara! Sending you all the best," one user commented. "You are not alone, always remember this," another wrote while boosting her morale.

Mannara had shared an official statement on the demise of her father, which read: "With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our loving father who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/06/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family."

Priyanka Chopra, Mannara's cousin, also expressed her grief, mourning the loss of her paternal uncle. "You’ll always be in our hearts. Rest easy Raman uncle (fufaji). Om Shanti," she wrote on her Insta stories.

Raman Rai Handa, a lawyer at the Delhi High Court, is survived by his wife, Kamini Chopra Handa, and daughters Mannara and Mitali. He was the husband of Kamini Chopra, the paternal aunt of Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra.

Meera Chopra also offered her condolences on the passing of Raman Rai Handa, as reported by Instant Bollywood. “Yes, I just got to know about the news a few minutes ago when I entered the event. Vicky (Jain) told me about his demise. I knew he was admitted to the hospital, but Vicky shared the news about his demise. He was fine, so I don’t know what exactly happened. I will go after this and find out. It is very sad. I think losing a parent – nothing can be worse than that. I know Mannara, Mitali dono unse bahot close thi. It was a very close-knit family, do betiyan thi and mom and dad. It’s very sad."

Mannara Chopra, cousin of Priyanka Chopra, is a well-known actress in South cinema, with roles in films like Prema Geema Jantha Nai and Sita. She also reached the 2nd runner-up position on Bigg Boss 17.
