Manit Joura: I enjoyed my time during Kundali and playing Rishabh Luthra and it was time to move on

Manit Joura aka Rishabh Luthra from Kundali Bhagya decided to call it quits on the show as he believes he has given his all to the show and the character and it was now time to move on. The actor is in talks for projects but continues to explore opportunities. He got talking to India Forums about the journey, the reactions, and some more. Read the conversation here.

What prompted you to make an exit from the show?

Freshness. I wanted to be a part of some good work and I think I have given everything to the character, it has been 5 years and its a long time for doing the same character. I enjoyed my time during Kundali and playing Rishabh Luthra and it was time to move on and create something in a better world.

Reaction from friends and family and cast members?

Everyone including my fans and parents have been habitual of seeing me as Rishabh, when my mom came to know, she was shocked but she agreed to my decision and my parents have never interfered with my career, she welcomed my decision.

Something you wish to explore ahead? 

I want to explore army, I am very close to army, IAS, etc. It's not like I have 5 choices and I have to choose bur I just want to do something that challenges me as an actor. It's my dream to play an army officer, I have done it before, bur I want to do something like Special Ops, State of Siege, etc.

What is it like to not go to the set you've been going to for so many months everyday?

To be honest, change is always difficult and it doesn't come easy, especially to me. I find it difficult to let go. Kundali has given me a lot of love and not being a part of it was a tough call to make but sometimes you have to make yourself uncomfortable to make yourself comfortable, I do think about the sets, memorizing the lines, and everything. I know the character like the back of my hand and it comes naturally to me. I see a lot of Rishabh Luthra in me.

Are reality shows something you want to explore?

Khatron Ke Khiladi.
