Renowned actress Manisha Koirala, known for her diverse roles, recently shared a candid insight into her acting journey, revealing a unique experience during the reading session for the movie "1942: A Love Story." In an exclusive conversation, Koirala opened up about a challenging moment when director Vidhu Vinod Chopra bluntly informed her that her initial reading of the scene was subpar.

Recalling the incident, Koirala shared to Pinkvilla, "There was an incident during 1942: A Love Story. During my first reading of the scene, I was horrible, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra clearly told me, 'You are very bad.' So, I requested him to give me 24 hours. If, even then, you don't find me good, I'll accept it." Undeterred by the critique, Koirala took the opportunity to hone her skills. "I went home. I didn't know what was good acting or bad acting; this was my third or fourth film. I had only 3-4 sheets in my hand, and I read them countless times. I went back, did the screen test again, and, of course, I was accepted," she added.

Manisha Koirala's illustrious career spans diverse roles, and she continues to make a significant impact on Indian cinema. Her upcoming project, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Heeramandi," promises to showcase her exceptional acting prowess once again. The story focuses on Alam, Mallikajaan's youngest daughter, emerging as the final beacon of hope in the intense power play.

With each role, she leaves an indelible mark, and her forthcoming venture, "Heeramandi," is poised to be another remarkable addition to her illustrious filmography.
