Mallika Sherawat confesses to feeling a bit uncomfortable while shooting bold scenes with Emraan Hashmi

Mallika Sherawat is ready to make her Bollywood comeback in the Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video post her hiatus. Reflecting on her early days in the film industry, she expresses gratitude to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt for giving her a significant role that shaped her career. She also talks about doing bold scenes with Emraan Hashmi in Murder, mentioning that while it can feel uncomfortable, both Bhatt and Emraan helped her feel at ease, ensuring that all the girls are very safe on set.

In an interview with Hauterrfly, Mallika expressed that she always felt secure and empowered while working on Mahesh Bhatt's sets. Looking back on her experience filming the bold and intense scenes in Murder, she attributed her comfort during the process to the supportive atmosphere created by Bhatt and her co-star Emraan Hashmi.

She said, “All girls are very safe on his set. I felt very safe even doing those bold scenes in Murder. Of course, one feels a little uncomfortable because there are so many people from the unit. But both Bhatt Sahab and Emraan Hashmi made me very comfortable. Emraan was an absolute gentleman.”

Mallika reflected on how Mahesh Bhatt, who directed her in the 2004 film Murder, had a significant impact on her personal and professional growth.

She pointed out that Bhatt was instrumental in helping her overcome patriarchal limitations, describing him as someone who provided her with the freedom to evolve. Sherawat emphasized that Bhatt’s progressive outlook, which also applied to the women in his own family, made a lasting impression on her life.

Professionally, Mallika will next appear in Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, set to release on October 1, 2024, along with Jigra, featuring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina.
