Maharana Pratap gets its young Maharana!
Contiloe Productions' historical venture for Star Plus titled Maharana Pratap gets its major cast...
Though the casting is still on, certain actors have been finalized for the show.
We hear that the childhood version of Maharana will be played by Khurram Khan.
Our source states, "Khurram Khan has been having a hectic workshop at Karjat for past many days. He has been learning the nuances of sword fighting, horse riding etc which a warrior needs to have. Paras Arora Salina Prakash will essay important roles".
"Himanshi Choudhary who essays the role of Sunita in Imagine's Rakt Sambandh will play the surrogate mother of Maharana Pratap, Saranga. Deepraj Rana will play the role of Rimal, while Amar Upadhyay has been roped in to essay Uday Singh. Shahbaaz Khan will also have a vital role to play in the show", adds our source.
Just like Contiloe's historical on Zee TV, Jhansi Ki Rani the sets for Maharana Pratap has been erected in Karjat.
We contacted Himanshi Choudhary and she confirmed her presence in the show. "I have shot for the show only once, so I really don't have any idea of anything".
We tried calling Deepraj Rana and Shahbaaz Khan, but both were unavailable for comment.

Eagerly waiting for the show. I wud be delighted to see the show based on Maharana Pratap the legend of rajasthan. It wud be a great show.

Sounds good. Happy for Himanshi, although somehow I get the idea that her role won't be a romantic one in this serial either. Also suggests that her role in RS is coming to an end2011-01-25 13:16:05
One thing though - how did Rana Pratap have a surrogate mother? What exactly does the term mean - I recall either Maharana Uday Singh or Maharana Pratap himself had 40 wives.
