Kulfi Kumar Bajewala fame Mohit Malik Shares His Fondest Memory with late actor Rishi Kapoor

On 30th April this year amid lockdown, India lost a legend, Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last after battling cancer for 2 years. The entire entertainment industry mourned over the loss of the legendary actor. Several actors even shared the memories they had with Rishi ji.

In light of this, television actor, Mohit Mallik shared his precious memory of Rishi Kapoor that’s extremely close to his heart with a leading newspaper as Rishi Kapoor has always been his all-time favourite actor and the one from whom Mohit has learnt a lot, professionally as well as personally.

Mohit said, “‘I’ve been extremely lucky to have an experience and memory with Rishi ji, my all-time favourite actor, with whom I had a lucky moment when he had come to a dance reality show in one of the rounds”, says Mohit Mallik. The actor adds, “I participated in a popular dance reality show with my wife Aditi in the year 2015, and Rishi Kapoor had come in one of the rounds. We all participants were told instantly, just one hour before about Rishi Kapoor's visit to the show. Knowing the fact he’s coming, I wanted to give him something, and in just 45 minutes, I made Rishi ji’s sketch/portrait and gifted to him during the show. He loved the portrait so much that he even took it with him. Me and Aditi both went up to him and touched his feet to seek blessings, to which he said 'jeetey raho' which suddenly reminded us like an elder in our family. His way of conveying blessings to us felt like a family to us. His connectivity with us, the genuineness he had was so uncommon and I can’t express in words.”

Speaking about Rishi Kapoor’s persona, Mohit says, “Rishi sir has always been my all-time favourite more than anyone else, because of his age, of his caliber he’s somebody who has adapted to new style of acting so well and this is something I have learnt from him. I loved him as a human being. He’s somebody who has not been complacent; somebody who’s always worked on himself as hard, and all this is so inspiring. For me, his whole journey is very inspiring, his hard work, the kind of films, roles/ characters he has done and how he changed himselfas an actor with changing times by being organic and real and maintained a peculiar style of acting, which Amitabh Bacchhan sir also possess.”
