Kriti Sanon reveals who is responsible for nepotism in the industry

Nepotism in the industry has been a hot topic for many years, with numerous actors sharing their thoughts on the matter. Recently, Kriti Sanon, a self-made Bollywood star who debuted in Heropanti alongside Tiger Shroff, also weighed in on nepotism. Speaking at a masterclass during the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa, Kriti discussed her perspective on nepotism in the Hindi film industry, highlighting that it extends beyond just the industry's actions and involves a larger cycle that includes the audience and media.

“I feel the industry is not so much responsible for nepotism. It’s also the media and the audience. The audiences want to watch what the media is putting about certain star kids. Because the audience is interested in them, the industry feels that since the audience is interested, let’s make a movie with them. So I think it’s a circle. But I feel if you are talented, you will get there. If you’re not talented, and if the connect is not there with the audiences, you will not get there," Kriti remarked during the session, as reported by DNA.

“When you don’t belong to a film background, it takes time for you to get there. It takes time for you to get those opportunities you crave for. It takes time for you to even get those magazine covers. So everything is a bit of a struggle. But after 2-3 films, if you keep working hard and if you are at it, nothing can stop you," she added.

Since stepping into the industry in 2014, Kriti has been part of several hit movies like Dilwale, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Raabta, Luka Chuppi, and Housefull 4. Recently, she expanded her horizons by venturing into production under her new banner, Blue Butterfly Films. Her first project as a producer, Do Patti, featuring Kajol and Shaheer Shaikh, represented a major achievement in her career.
