Khoj – Parchaiyon Ke Uss Paar Review: Sharib Hashmi excels in this slow-burning suspense with deep emotions

Khoj – Parchaiyon Ke Uss Paar is the latest series to release on Zee5. The show stars Sharib Hashmi and Anupriya Goenka in lead roles. Directed by Prabal Baruah, the show is about a man who files a complaint for his missing wife. Two days later, his wife turns up at his home. The only issue is that the husband believes she is an imposter. Sharib Hashmi plays the role of a lawyer (Ved Khanna) who begs the cops to find his wife (Meera Khanna). What happens next forms the mystery…

The story is set in the serene hill station of Panchgani where Ved Khanna has a huge home. He complains to the local police that his wife Meera Khanna is untraceable since two days. The lady returns home but Ved insists that she is an imposter. He begs the police to help him out, as he says the woman is a fake Meera Khanna who has planted herself in his life.

Khoj – Parchaiyon Ke Uss Paar has one big highlight – the performance of Sharib Hashmi. He conveys all the emotions perfectly as the harrowed husband and father. Anupriya Goenka does well as Meera Khanna. Aamir Dalvi is decent as Inspector Sathe but the role is a badly written one.

The show is hugely stretched given its content. While it does manage to keep an element of suspense intact, there is nothing truly engaging about the narrative. However, it does have its moments when Ved Khanna realizes that everything is about to slip away.

Filmmaker Prabal Baruah has deftly handled the emotional aspects of the show. But the series as a suspense thriller has no thrills or intriguing mystery to write home about.

The climax while not completely predictable does nothing to elevate the series. Those who have watched the movie Khoj will hardly find something very unique about the series.
