KBC opens houseful across the 3 metros with a 5.24 TVR

Powered by its' Koi Bhi Insaan Chota Nahi Hota' promise, and the unbeatable charisma of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan –the legendary host and India's biggest Superstar ever, Kaun Banega Crorepati 5 (KBC) on Sony Television Network, has once again emerged as India's favorite show with a block-buster opening of 5.24 TVRs, in the top 3 metros, Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata.

The grand opening of KBC 2011 has catapulted Sony to the No.1 position in these 3 cities where Colors has a GRP of 100, Star Plus has 106 GRP and with Sony TV catapulting up to 111 GRP.

With the excellent performance of KBC and continued dream run of 'Bade Acche Laggte Hai' and 'Saas Bina Sasuraal', Sony has firmly established its leadership position.

Speaking on Kaun Banega Crorepati's stupendous opening, Ms Sneha Rajani, Senior EVP and Business Head, Sony Entertainment Television said, "KBC's core promise of 'koi bhi insaan chota nahin hota' and the magnetic pull of the legendary Mr. Bachchan makes KBC the most popular show on Indian Television. Last season of Kaun Banega Crorepati had opened at 5.3 TVR in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkatta metros according to the TAM mid-week data for the 42 of TAM 2010. At HSM level, the last season of KBC had recorded a block-buster opening of 6.2 TVRs. While the numbers from the rest of the market are awaited, which will be out next Wednesday/Thursday, the present numbers are even more impressive considering the time slot this season has been changed to 8.30 pm from its original 9 pm slot and also the show's duration has increased from one hour to one and half hours.

AB sr is outstanding and he has excellent command on hindi as well as english. others tried to mimic him but Amitji took KBC to a new level... its a delight to watch him

This show rocks... Bachhan sir is the soul of the show... Really a refreshing show. But it is not possible for a single show to make a channel no 1. Otherwise colors or zee wud always have been in top. Because pavitra rishta and ballika vadhu got more tam ratings than any other show of star plus. But star plus always tops coz average trps of all its shows r gud... This article is kinda fake. Even ipl matches didn't affect pr, bv, yrkhh, sns. Sns sometimes topped the list during ipl matches leaving far behind the ratings of matches. Kbc may top the list but SONY can't be no1. It has less no of shows compared to other channels. Which is essential to top the list... I m big fan of kbc... Bt sony no1... Ha ha Give me a break...!! Article likhne waalo tam website check kar lo. Sony ko no 1 bata k free ka publicity mat do.

I'm so happy seeing this article. I prefer watching KBC to see Mr. Bachchan and also to gain some GK. This is really a great show and the incredible Amitabh sir has made it the greatest. KBC must be watched than watching stupid daily soaps aired on all the channels. Good to see a watchful show on sony after the best show CID.
