Karwa Chauth special: Is eating the new starve of Telly Town?

Its Karwa Chauth and like every year, the caring wives are all excited to fast and celebrate this festival of love!

The ritual observed by married Hindu women, who seek for the longevity, prosperity and well-being of their husbands will fast today even without a drop of water. Fasting whole day is not an easy task, especially if the wife is a working woman. Managing the household chores, with no intake of food or water can take a toll on anyone.

But our Telly starts are the ideal wives and daughter-in-laws not just in 'reel' life, but also in reality as they prove that nothing is impossible if one wants to observe it with full faith in the tradition!

Today, we at Tellybuzz speak to some of our working actors on how they plan to celebrate the sacred bond between a husband and a wife!

Amrapali Gupta, who has been observing the fast religiously every year, finds the concept of Karwa Chauth very romantic. She mentions, "The concept of Karwa Chauth sounds very romantic and it is very important for me because just as the moon brings light to the darkness of the sky, Yash is only one who is and will always be, during my happy and troubled times. My life is incomplete without him."

Rishina Kandhari too contributes stating, "I have been celebrating Karwa Chauth from the past 8 years. Being a Punjabi, I love celebrating this festival. I wake up early morning to eat my Sargi, get dressed in red saari, put mehendi a day before, wear my gold jewelry and try to look like a newly wedded bride. Like every year, this year too, I will go out for dinner with my husband after seeing the moon and open my fast. "

Now, while there are some working women who are more than willing to balance their fasting ritual and manage their daily shoots, the queen of Tellywood, Drashti Dhami is fairly new to this concept.

When asked about how she plans to celebrate the occasion, she quips, "It's going to be my first Karwa Chauth, but I haven't planned anything yet, since I have been shooting. So I shall hopefully plan something special for the day."

Hmm...

While all these lovely wives have been talking about observing the day-long fasts, there is one couple who willingly fasts for one another for each other's long life!

Beautiful, Isn't it?

We are talking about Rohit Nag and Aishwarya Sakhuja!

Elaborating on the same, Rohit adds, "I too, will be fasting this year as Aishwarya will be doing this for me, so I'm joining her to give her moral support. Ash and I have been together for almost 7 years now and every year we have shared this bond and stayed hungry for each other 'together' so it goes without saying that this year too, I'll be fasting and hopefully for all the years to come."

Awww!

Moving forward, there are some couples who now celebrate the festival in a modern way. In other words, we would call it the 'Khata Peeta Karva Chauth'

Celebrating this occasion, is the sultry actress Shivangi Verma and her boyfriend Ripu Daman Handa!

Says Shivangi, "Today, we will make sure we eat double of what we regularly eat and celebrate our love by partying the whole day! There is no better way of sharing our bond together than spending quality time together."
