It wouldn't be a normal day without Karan Johar being in the news brigade for an array of controversies or random talking points. The filmmaker has been at the receiving end of a lot of jabs right from the nepotism debate to being trolled for his fashion choices and plenty other things.
But the man has also been one to confess when he did something wrong or said something which is inappropriate. In a recent video being surfaced, Johar confessed that he did not want his friend and filmmaker Aditya Chopra to cast Anushka Sharma in the film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. During the 18th MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2016, Johar revealed that wanted to murder Anushka Sharma's career. When Aditya showed him her pictures, he advised him not to cast her. The filmmaker also added that there was another lead actress at that time who he wanted Adi to sign and he was totally behind the scene sabotaging Anushka completely. Karan also admitted to watching 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi very reluctantly.
As soon as this video was being surfaced, netizens slammed Johar for being a terrible person, who sees no beyond nepo kids. Even though Johar confessed to apologising to Sharma after watching the film, people were in no mood to forgive him. As it continues to being talked about, Johar went on to share a cryptic note which read, "Laga lo ilzaam, hum jhukne waalon mein se nahi.., jhoot ka ban jao ghulam...., hum bolne waalon mein se nahi..., jitna neecha dikhaoge..., jitne aarop lagaoge..., hum girne waalon mein se nahi..., humara karam humari Vijay hai...aap utha lo talvaar... Hum marne waalon mein se nahi.. (I am not the one to get bowed down and I will keep moving forward, no matter what)."
On the work front, Johar continues to make multiple TV appearances and other brand endorsements while as a director, he is set to mark his return with the film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roes after seven years.
