Kajol's co-star Noor Malabika Das from 'The Trial' dies of suicide in her Mumbai flat

In a heartbreaking turn of events, actress Noor Malabika Das was found dead in her Mumbai apartment in Lokhandwala on June 6, 2024. The 37-year-old actress, who also had a background as an air hostess, was discovered by the Mumbai Police following a report from concerned neighbors about a foul smell emanating from her flat.

The Oshiwara Police responded swiftly to the neighbors' complaints, forcing their way into Noor's apartment where they found her decomposed body hanging from a ceiling fan. Initial investigations by the police suggest that Noor's death was a suicide. A table and rope were found at the scene, further supporting this preliminary conclusion.

Noor Malabika Das hailed from Assam and had carved a niche for herself in the Hindi web series industry. Her body of work includes leading roles in popular web series like “Siskiyaan,” “Walkaman Upaya,” and “Charamsukh.” She also played a supporting role in the series “The Trial,” starring alongside Bollywood actress Kajol.

According to police sources, Noor had been battling depression and was on medication. This struggle, unfortunately, appears to have culminated in her tragic decision to take her own life. The All Indian Cine Workers Association has urged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Noor's death, emphasizing the need for a detailed probe.
