Naeema Butt isn’t holding back. Best known for her role in Pakistani Drama Kabhi Mai Kabhi Tum, the actress recently opened up about the not-so-glamorous side of working with big names in the show.

In a candid chat on Gup Shab, Naeema revealed that her experience off-screen was far from the picture-perfect friendships fans see online. “I thought my colleagues are appreciating my work and it was very encouraging. But, that was all my assumption,” she shared, suggesting the support she expected from her co-stars wasn’t genuine.

While social media painted a rosy picture of the cast—laughing on set, posing for cheerful selfies—Naeema says reality looked very different once the cameras stopped rolling. “I thought they were good friends, but that was not the truth. When the camera used to be on, it was all good, but once the camera was turned off, they wouldn’t even allow me to be on stage,” she recalled.

Without naming names, she hinted at the performative nature of these public bonds. “I don’t want to get into the details. I just learnt one thing that just because two people post something on social media, they don’t necessarily have to be great friends in real life. They do it all that to get appreciation from the public, to show that they are not insecure, that they want to support new talent. But, that’s not the case.”
