Jyoti inspired by a true story..

Sphere Origins and NDTV Imagine is coming up with a new venture titled Jyoti soon. However, not many know that the story has been inspired from real life, and the creative team has tried their best to portray the story very realistically.

Purnendu Shekar, writer of Jyoti says, "I have seen a girl like this in real life. She had been very inspirational for me when I was writing the story for Jyoti. I have not taken any situation from her life but have imbibed bits and peaces from here and there and my creative ideas have worked wonders on it".

Ask the writer of Balika Vadhu fame about the girl and he states, "Well I would not like to name her or talk much about her as it won't be right. All I can say is that Jyoti is a show to which all can relate with. It portrays the tale of a middle class family. In other words, all I can say is that jyoti is our mirror, and through her eyes we are going to discover the world".

Talking on the story line, Producer Sunjoy Waddhwa states, "Jyoti is the man of the house. Her family likes her because she is earning and gets money for their bread and butter. The day Jyoti realizes this, she takes a drastic step. Now that is something to be watched".

The star cast includes Sneha Wagh as lead. Sanjay Batra, Zaida Parveen, Sriti Jha, Varun Khandelwal, Srinidhi Shetty and Kalpana Bora. The show will see a mix of fresh and famous faces.

Jyoti will go on air from 16th February, Monday-Thursday at 8:30 pm on NDTV Imagine.
