'Jurassic World' Animated Series is Set for Netflix

The billion-dollar franchise is being converted into an animated series...

Jurassic

With only two films, Jurassic World franchise has already raked in almost 3 billion dollars and a third film is already in development. However, before that happens, it seems that we will soon be getting an animated series that will also be set in the dinosaur world. According to reports, Netflix is teaming up with DreamWorks Animation for a new series that is set in the Jurassic World Universe. Titled Jurrasic World: Camp Cretaceous, the series will happen within the timeline of the 2015 film Jurassic World and is expected to debut in 2020.

Scott Kreamer (Pinky Malinky) and Lane Lueras (Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny) are set as showrunners and will executive produce alongside Amblin Entertainment's Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Colin Trevorrow. Zack Stentz will be a consulting producer.

The new series follows a group of six teens as they experience life at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. But when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers wind up stranded and are forced to work together to survive.

Are you excited to see this world in an animated avatar? We certainly are.
