South star Jr NTR on Monday (May 10) announced the contraction of the novel coronavirus. The actor testing positive for Covid-19 was a major blow to his fans and the Telugu film industry. 

Today, days after his diagnosis, the 37-year-old actor has now shared an update on his health and revealed that he is getting better and hopeful of testing negative for Covid-19 soon. Taking to his Twitter handle, he also sent out wishes on the auspicious occasion of Eid and urged everyone to stay safe.

"Wishing everyone a happy Eid. Thank you one and all for your warm wishes and prayers. I am getting better and hope to test negative soon. Stay safe and take care (sic)", Jr NTR’s tweet read.

In a tweet on May 10, the actor had revealed that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and requested his fans not to worry as he is doing fine. Furthermore, the Aravinda Sametha actor also informed that he and his family members have isolated themselves following Covid-19 protocols.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Jr NTR is currently waiting for the release of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming Telugu film RRR. It marks the collaboration of Ram Charan and Jr NTR wherein they are rumoured to play brothers in the movie. Furthermore, the film also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, and Samuthirakani.

Produced by DVV Danayya, RRR is directed by India's most celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli and is set to release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and several other Indian languages.

The much-awaited Pan-India film will have a worldwide release on October 13, 2021, on the festive occasion of Dussehra.
