John Abraham is currently ramping up for the release of his upcoming film Ek Villain Returns, starring Tara Sutaria, Arjun Kapoor, and Disha Patani. Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series are producing the action-thriller.
The actor, who has been in a wide range of films over the course of his nearly two-decade career, has also served as a producer on a diverse range of projects. While wearing both hats, he has managed to establish a balance between commercial and content-driven cinema. While he is open to exploring the OTT media as a producer, as an actor, he prefers the big screen.
In a recent interview with ETimes, John discussed why he wants to stick to the big screen as an actor. He said that, he enjoys working in the OTT environment as a producer. He'd love to develop films for the medium and target that demographic. But, as an actor, he is certain that he is a big-screen hero who wants to be seen there.
John further quoted,
"At this point, I will do films that cater to the big screen. I would find it offensive if someone shut off my film midway on a tablet because they needed to rush to the washroom. Also, I would not like to be available for Rs 299 or 499. I have a problem with it.”
Meanwhile, John's next film, Ek Villain Returns, is set to be released on July 29. It was formerly scheduled to be released on July 8, 2022. Mohit Suri, who also directed the 2014 film Ek Villain, hemed the film.
