Janhvi Kapoor: I wanted to shoot the NEXT DAY after Mom's cremation

Losing your beloved mother at a tender age of 21 is disheartening and debutant Janhvi Kapoor faced this nightmare as her supportive and superstar mother Sridevi died earlier this year. Sridevi breathed her last on 24^th February in Dubai, while Janhvi was shooting for her recently released debut film 'Dhadak'.

As known to all, Janhvi who was busy filming for 'Dhadak' couldn't be with her family in Dubai while they attended cousin Mohit Marwah's wedding. Sadly, she couldn't spend the last moments with her mother while she accidentally drowned in a hotel bathtub and thus losing her life.

Now, in a heart-to-heart conversation with Filmfare, Janhvi Kapoor expressed that how she was in a denial stage at that time. Sharing about how she is yet to accept living her life without Sridevi, the debutant said, "No. I haven't got around the acceptance stage yet. It's just that there hasn't been time or I haven't allowed myself the time to come to terms with everything. There's a stage of denial that we're all going through. I wanted to shoot the next day (after the cremation). But the shoot got cancelled. I was like, No, I must go back, and I need to be on the set".

"I thought I was going to lose my mind if I didn't do that. And I would have, promise you, if I didn't have Dhadak. If I didn't have the opportunity to act or be in front of the camera, there would have been no purpose in life to keep me going", she added.

We are sure that she did make her mumma proud with her honest performance in Dhadak as Parthavi Singh. It's not only us but the critics and audience too are appreciating Janhvi's act in her much-talked-about debut film.
