Its the game of TRPs amid IPL fever!

There is a good news for all the remote control junkies. Though IPL fever is on, it’s not as high as it was last year and we can make that out from the launch of news shows on Indian Television.  It comes as a surprise that top Hindi GECs are going full strangle and launching new shows right in the middle of IPL 2015.

"I really feel that Manmarzian has a different viewership, and cricket lovers have all together different view on this. I know IPL is going on but still being part of the show, I expect everyone to watch our show and appreciate it whether it’s now or later as long as the show works, I am happy and that’s the most important thing because many things come up during the matches, so basically your content has to be good enough to attract the audience irrespective of when it is released,” says Kashmira Irani currently working in Star Plus, Dosti.. Yariyaan.. Manmarzian.

From non-fiction shows like Nach Baliye 7 to fiction shows like Reporters (Sony TV), Dosti.. Yariyaan.. Manmarzian (Star Plus), Gulmohar Grand and Hanuman, producers are leaving no mark to disappoint their viewers. SAB TV is all set to launch three comedy shows during the IPL- Hansi He Hansi...Mil Toh Lein, Shashi Sumeet Productions' yet to be titled show and many more.

Akanksha Singh whose new show Gulmohar Grand is all set to commence  on May 3 says, “I don’t think you can judge a 26 episodes show with the TRPs as it’s not a daily show, whether the IPL is there or not it really doesn’t matter to an actor as I am just doing my work. If people like it and appreciate it, it will be really good for me. I just want to give my best, rest it’s up to the audience."

Earlier production houses use to refrain from launching news shows, but now it seems like they are ready to take-up the challenge and set to ride on a roller-coaster.

Some of the shows like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Phir Subah Hogi or Dance India Dance; they went on to be highly popular shows during the IPL.
