Its 'Noboborsho' for our Bengali actors!

Our Bengali actors from the Tinsel town talk about their celebrations on the special day of a Bengali New Year.

Today on the auspicious occasion of Bengali New Year also known as Nobo Borsho, we ask our Bengali actors to know about their celebrations on this day. The common thing that we get to hear is wearing new clothes which is a tradition that every Bengali follows. Along with wearing new clothes let's see how are our actors celebrating their day.

Here are actors sharing their fond memories and plans for the New Year :-

Mouni Roy last seen Colors' Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa Season 7 says,

"I always say that I am a strange person doing strange things, this is because I celebrated the New Year yesterday and by the mid-day, mother told me that it is celebrated today. So I wore a new dress yesterday which is essential for us to do on the New Year then I had a lunch and today will celebrate Nobo Borsho by having a dinner out. There are many fond memories from childhood for this day as we use to have a 2-3 families sitting together and celebrating the New Year also everyone wearing new clothes."

Ronit Roy who is seen as Neil on Sony TV's Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar says,

"I am shooting today for a Court sequence wearing a lawyer's black dress for my show Adaalat because of telecast problems, so for now no plans to celebrate the New Year but I would surely like to wish all the readers a very Happy New Year.”

Tina Dutta who was seen as Meethi on Colors' Uttaran says,

"Bengali new year is very special for us. We call it Nobo Borsho. Bengali new year is very special day for me. We do puja early morning and we make lot of Bengali dishes. Since it's a new year I will be wearing new clothes and since mom is in town so this year's New Year will be very special for me. I will take my mom out for lunch in some Bengali restaurant. Yes I will be visiting temple also to take blessings. Fondest memories will be my childhood days when I used spend times my whole day with family members in Kolkata."

Debina Bonnerjee Choudhary who was seen on SAB TV's Chidiya Ghar says,

"For me this New Year means a family get together, wearing new clothes, visiting Guru Ashram and getting new gifts. Actually for it is an altogether a different feeling to welcome a new year, it is because this day brings my birthday closer to me. As my birthday is just 4 days away, every year I get very excited to welcome the new year. I remember during school days although we use to have exams during Nobo Borsho, I use to wear new clothes and leave from the house. Wearing new clothes is a tradition which I believe is followed so that the entire year you get to wear new and good clothes (smiles)."

We wish all the viewers a very Happy Noboborsho!
