Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar - Slow start but looks promising!

Balaji Telefilms' another venture is quite impressive and acting is commendable of the star cast.

Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar

Mon - Thurs at 10.30pm on Sony TV

Producer: Balaji Telefilms

Cast: Ronit Roy, Pallavi Kulkarni, Darshan Pandya, Avinash Mukherjee, Induben Mehta, Kirti Sualy, Jyoti Joshi, Falguni Desai, Aarav Patel, Rhea Sharma, Rohan Shah and Shilpa

Story so far:  It's a story of Neil (Ronit Roy) and Ragini (Pallavi Kulkarni Nerurkar). Even though they have moved on with their life, each of them hold grudge against other. Ragini who is administration in-charge in a hospital has forgotten to smile and immersed herself in work to forget the pain, meanwhile Neil develops hatred towards women in general. Neil and Pallavi have four kids. Post their divorce, Neil moves to America with two of their kids and Ragini stays back in India with two kids. They meet after 15 years for their daughter's wedding. Even though years have passed, they still have not been able to reconcile their differences and have immense hatred for each other. Despite the bitterness, they come together for the sake of their kids. Over the period of time, staying away from each other has made Neil an indifferent man, whereas Ragini is still trying to run away from the ghosts of her past relationship. They are constantly reminded of their broken marriage because of the children who are a sign of their past love for each other. However, fate has different plans for them and their children become the pivotal reason for them to start a new chapter in life. The story is now taken forward by the children, who attempt to bring together their separated parents and rediscover love after 15 years.

What works: Ronit Roy as a Suave doctor is charismatic as usual. It's easily understandable that why women still drool over him. He is getting more handsome with passing years. Ronit has proved his immense talent in various roles and Neil' will be one of them. Pallavi Kulkarni Nerurkar is making a come-back after a long hiatus, but Ragini's role was worth waiting for! She does a commendable job as a mother of two youngsters and looks natural on-screen. The kids compliment the lead pair and fit in their respective roles.

What doesn't work: The lead pair's strong personalities make other characters look like a child's play. Casting is not up to the mark. Sunny Tai's role can be irritating at times. Incidents like, Dr.Neil enters the operation theater without scrubbing his hands, even being just an admin in-charge Ragini decides on the picking surgeons, deciding on the anesthetist and so on, can  make you doubt the authenticity of the characters shown in this serial.

Our take: The show is based on one fact that, though husband and wife can't see eye to eye, they have to adjust for the sake of their children. Ronit Roy and Pallavi Kulkarni Nerurkar as Neil and Ragini does perfect justice to their roles. Even though the story is not moving much at the moment, it looks promising of fast space in coming days. Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar has all the ingredients of a typical Balaji offering which audience is going to love.
