Shipsy Rana, renowned for her impactful role in Zee TV's 'Ishq Subhanallah,' has been noticeably absent from the screen since her departure from the show. Despite earning widespread acclaim for her stellar performance, the talented actress recently took to her Instagram to share the challenging health struggles she has been facing over the past year, expressing a sense of hopelessness. In an exclusive interview with India Forums, Shipsy openly discussed her health journey.

In a recent Instagram story, you shared details about your illness. Can you elaborate on what you've been going through?

Initially diagnosed as food poisoning, I was in the middle of a shoot when I started feeling unwell, experiencing severe fever. The situation worsened in the middle of the night, prompting my friends to rush me to the hospital. Despite taking all necessary precautions and medications, my health deteriorated during travel. Multiple medical issues were suspected, including stomach infection and IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). My health had reached a critical state, and all I can recall is my parents taking me to various hospitals in search of the best medical care.

Has your illness impacted your professional life?

By God's grace, work opportunities have continued to come my way. Although people eagerly awaited my return to the project I was working on, unfortunate circumstances prevented me from continuing. Some individuals have been understanding, while others may not be aware, and I don't believe it has affected my career significantly. As an art enthusiast, living through art is an artist's ultimate dream. I miss my work tremendously each and every day.

Are people from the industry aware of your situation? Has anyone reached out to you?

Yes, after sharing my story on Instagram, some people did reach out through messages. However, only a few have genuinely been there for me, and my close ones have been a constant support. Distance doesn't matter; it's the emotions that truly count. I am incredibly grateful to each person who has shown compassion.

Has this situation affected your mental health? How are you coping with it?

Especially after May of this year, I've endured the toughest medical conditions. I won't deny that it breaks you multiple times. You feel like you are not doing well in any aspect. Suddenly finding yourself on your deathbed, unable to eat or live a normal life, becomes a surreal experience. Shifting from one hospital bed to another, enduring numerous injections, drips, and medications, you start losing hope. Emotional pain becomes intertwined with physical pain. I have been on a liquid diet for months now, still trying. Regardless of the challenges—whether you fall, collapse, cry, or lose hope—never lose your zeal for life. Just keep going.
