Is Kanagana Ranaut starring in Shekhar Kapur's next?

Recently, during the ongoing International Film Festival of India 2017 (IFFI), Shekhar Kapur conducted a session with Sushant Singh Rajput. Apart from few other topics, he also spoke about directing a film for Kangana.

He stated, "I am desperate to make another film in India. I want to come home and make a film. When I made 'Masoom', nobody was expecting anything from me. I wasn't expecting anything from myself. It is a terrible space for a filmmaker to be in."

He further added, "I am currently writing the script. It is a beautiful script."

There were reports in 2015, that Kangana has been offered to play an 85-year-old lady in her next film. However, the news soon went off but, recently, in an interview with a leading daily he said, "I had met Kangana one day and we spoke about a film. I am still writing it, and once I am done with it, I'm definitely going to make it. It is on the lines of film, "Masoom".

When asked if the film is about Ranaut playing an 85-year-old confirming the news Kapur said, "Yes, that's true. But it's not the continuation of the Masoom story. This is the same film. It's got nothing to do with "Masoom", and it isn't going to take that story [of Masoom] forward. But yes, it's that kind of a movie. And by that, I mean that it's a very intimate film, like "Masoom" was."
