Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan has made her career choices clean from the beginning stating that her interest lies with filmmaking and not acting. And, she took all her fans with a pleasant surprise when she announced that she will will be marking her directorial debut with not a movie but with a Greek tragedy play titled ‘Euripides’ Medea’.

Ira had also shared why she chose to debut with theatre. She said, "There's no particular reason that I decided to start with theatre. I love theatre, its magical and all-consuming; in its classical form, in the world of technology, it's very real and physical. I love the suspension of disbelief that the audience allows for because then there's so much you can express."

And while her upcoming play has already managed to grab eyeballs, a recent development from the project states that Yuvraj Singh’s wife Hazel Keech will be starring in Ira’s play as well. She is best known for her work in Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Bodyguard and is now making her acting comeback with this classic play.

Ira shared a picture with Hazel on her Instagram and wrote, “SHE SAID YES! It's amazing to get to work with you, as a friend but more importantly as an actor, @hazelkeechofficial . I can't wait to see what we make??.”

Talking of her comeback to acting as a protagonist in Ira Khan’s debut directorial play, Euripides’ Medea, she said, “My training has also mostly been from acting schools, which were very intertwined with theatre. So it’s more like a homecoming for me rather than a comeback.”

The 32-year-old actress also lauded Ira for her flair and dedication towards work. Sharing her experience on working with the star kid, she said, “She is young but I feel she has seen a lot and been through a lot at her age, and she understands the complexities of the characters and the dynamics between them far better than your average 21-year-old. Ira brings freshness and a different perspective to a complex play. It’s impressive to see her being so sure of herself and what she wants.”

Reportedly, Ira has already commenced work on her directorial in full force and the premiere of her play is scheduled to take place in December, this year.
