The Indian flag is a source of national pride, a symbol of cultural identity and the representation of Indian values. And there have been times when we all have made national flags ourselves. Here on 70th Independence day Telly Celebs share their memories of making the Tricolour and celebrating the Independence Day!

I remember making our National Flag with my friends. It used to be a game of whosoever makes the best flag, theirs would be hoisted. I remember celebrating the morning hours of the day with friends, singing and dancing to patriotic songs.

I remember making the National Flag and sticking it to my cycle and going out in the town with friends. We use to get up and get ready for Flag-hoisting and then play cricket till evening.

I remember how we sisters used to start making flags since 1st Aug. We even used to fight with each other to be the best. We use to wake-up early and run to the ground to see the Flag hoisting and used to return and copy the process. It used to be fun.

I have made National flags for many occasions, be it for Independence Day or Republic day. Even when we were in college, I remember me, my sister and friends making flags and greeting people with them.

I remember me and my classmates making flags two to three days before and stick them all around the school in every corner. We also used to sketch the pictures of freedom fighters. I am all inspired by Bhagat Singh, so I have always played him in school plays as I would direct the play for our school auditorium.

I remember the sweet memories of childhood when we used to make the National flag and perform holding it. I enjoyed a lot on Independence Day right from signing the National Anthem to dancing on patriotic songs. And today, when I see the young kids doing it, I miss my childhood.

I remember making the flag, putting it to my bicycle and going around. Now when I see kids with National flags at the signals, I buy and keep them along with my bike. Its all my love and respect to my Mother India.

My sister and I have always enjoyed making national flags for such days. Independence day used to be a celebration for us. Every year after flag hoisting we used to have debates and news reading competitions.

During childhood I remember making paper flags for Independence Day and used to hoist it with friends. We used to collect flowers and also make 'Rangoli' and enjoy singing the National Anthem and patriotic songs.

I have made National Flags during my childhood many times. It was really fun. We used to enjoy the Parade and visit different places where the Flag hoisting would take place. The environment used to be completely patriotic. And greeting people 'Jai Hind' used to make me a proud Indian.
We wish our readers a Happy Independence Day!
