Independence Day: Kundali Bhagya's Anjum Fakih says, “We need to work towards the betterment of our country"

August 15, 2022 marks the 75th anniversary of India's Independence. A fight led by our brave hearts for over a century. Their dedication and sacrifice are the only reason we are now called the largest democracy. And in today's day and age, the definition of the word soldier now includes the police force, doctors and medical practitioners. This Independence Day, PM Modi has requested all the countrymen to hoist the national flag in their homes as a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative. People have followed the initiative and have posted pictures of the tricolor flags that they’ve respectfully put at their respective houses.

India Forums got in touch with actress Anjum Fakih who plays the character of Shrishti in Zee TV show Kundali Bhagya and asked her about her thoughts on the special day. She quipped, “Independence for me is about being able to make decisions based on my personal values and opinions that are very important to me.  I am proud to be an Indian and I salute all those who have fought for our freedom. As a nation, we have progressed, but we need to work as individuals toward taking a stand for things that are important for the betterment of our country”.

She further added, “As a responsible citizen, we must dutifully exercise all our rights and work towards the well-being and progression of our country. Happy 75th Independence Day to everyone.”

Anjum is known for her performances in shows like Naagin 5 and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2.
