In conversation with Nikita Dream girl Dutta!

Nikita Dutta, currently seen on Dream Girl, is one happy soul. While we hear stories of actors who struggled their way to success, the gracious lady begs to differ from the lot.

Little would people know that the good looking actress was earlier a journalist who anchored the news beat at Zoom TV and also covered the sports beat on Star Sports.

But why did she plan to take up acting instead of news reporting? 

In conversation with the pretty lady, Nikita gave us an insight about her journey in this industry.

Nikita averred, "It was at the time of anchoring Star Sports that I received a call from Star Plus (both channels under Star Network). I was approached for a particular show but that did not materialize and when I was approached for the second one I rejected the offer as I did not want to do something what was clichéd. I made a choice of selecting acting as a career but only if I was offered something dynamic. I am very particular about what I essay and will never get into the run of the mill saas-bahu saga."

Nikita who essays the role of Lakshmi on Dream Girl claimed that the only similarity between her reel and real self is that she is very determined and strong hearted.

Switching from a journalistic background to acting must have been difficult. Especially, enacting a personality what she is not in real life.

When probed her on that account she quipped, "Yes, initially I faced a lot of problems. During anchoring, I had to be loud and could read the scripts at my comfort but acting is completely the opposite of what I did earlier. It is very challenging physically and emotionally. "

Expressing one of the incidents where she was expected to jump through hoops with tedious pranks being played on Lakshmi, she stated, "Actually I feel uneasy and giddy when rats come across me. In the particular scene, when Ayesha leaves rats on me I was so scared that I started screaming out of mu wits! But then at some point I had to forego my fear. It was scary, but somehow I pulled it off. I am very scared of animals."

Since Nikita has been a part of anchoring, we wondered if she would choose to anchor a television reality show if given a chance.

Within a blink of an eye, she said, "Definitely. Anchoring is my first love! "
