Actor Nikita Dutta has tested positive for COVID-19. She confirmed the news on her Instagram stories, where she also revealed that her mother has contracted the virus. The actor, last seen in Jewel Thief, is currently under home quarantine and has postponed all professional engagements until she recovers.

On her Instagram story, Nikita shared a snapshot of her test report and wrote, “Covid has come to say hello to my mum and me. Hoping this uninvited guest doesn't stay long. See you after this short quarantine. Stay safe, everyone.”

As of now, Nikita is reportedly showing mild symptoms. She is following medical advice and resting at home. The news comes shortly after actress Shilpa Shirodkar also tested positive for the virus. Shilpa had informed her followers earlier with a note that read, “Hello People! I’ve been tested positive for COVID. Stay safe and wear your masks!” She has since announced her recovery.

Nikita’s recent project Jewel Thief, directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, released on Netflix on April 25, 2025. In the film, she portrayed the role of Farah opposite Saif Ali Khan. Prior to this, she was seen in several digital projects including Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and The Waking of a Nation.

Starting her acting journey with the 2014 film Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, Nikita also made her presence felt on television with Dream Girl – Ek Ladki Deewani Si. Over time, she transitioned into digital platforms and has steadily built her career across different formats.

While fans have flooded her post with well wishes, the actor remains focused on her recovery and has advised everyone to be careful. The actress’s candid note has struck a chord with many, especially as COVID-19 cases see a scattered rise again.

With health and safety as a priority, Nikita is expected to resume work only after she fully recovers. For now, she remains in isolation with her mother, hoping the virus “doesn’t stay long.”
