In conversation with Leela Bhabhi of Baa Bahu Aur Baby

Lubna Salim plays the role of Leela bhabhi in Baa Bahu Aur Baby, who although is a typical gujarati housewife, is very suave and sophisticated when it comes to fashion and style. When asked if she was fashion conscious and relates to her character, she replies, “Well I am not as fashion conscious as the character, but I do like to keep myself well groomed. After all a well groomed person is appreciated by everyone.”

She further adds “It is also difficult for me to entirely relate to the character not being a gujarati.” So then how does she play the role to a hilt? “Well”, she answers “Initially it was difficult for me to essay the role, since I was not aware of the gujarati culture and traditions. But I took up the role as a challenge and did get a lot of help from Aadesh and JD on the sets to get into the skin of the character. Now I have become so used to the role that it has become like my second nature. I have even sung gujarati songs in the serial. I really enjoy playing the character.”

Speaking about new projects Lubna says, “I have three new modeling assignments starting next week and I also have a new show coming on air but I cannot divulge any information right now.” She goes on to share her future plans saying “I would like to do new and challenging roles down the line. A role that is more real. And now that there a lot of new serials coming out and many new channels launching it just opens many more avenues for us.”

On a final note Lubna sends a special message to all her fans by saying “I love all my fans. I thank them wholeheartedly for all their support and love and hope they continue supporting us as it is this love and support that helps me deliver my best.”
