I’m planning to learn making Shrikhand & Puran poli this Gudi Padwa: Anushka Merchande

Gudi Padwa, also known as Samvatsar Padvo embarks the beginning of the Marathi new year and is a joyous occasion for all Maharashtrians celebrating the festival. And well, for everyone in Mumbai, it still is a special time to spend with family, send out good wishes, and indulge in celebrations. 

India Forums got in touch with actress Anushka Merchande who plays the character of Chhavi in Zee TV show ‘Main Hoon Aparajita’ and asked her about the festival. 

She said, "I will be celebrating Gudi Padwa with my family, spending some quality time with them, and enjoying the festival. Gudi Padwa is a very important festival for us Maharashtrians, we wear new clothes on this day and mark the significance of a good omen, so all good things begin with Gudi Padva. The festival signifies new beginnings, as it is Maharashtrain’s New Year, hence, I am planning to learn something new and that is how to make Shrikhand and Puran Poli, hopefully, I will be successful.  I pray for good health for all my loved ones and the betterment of the world."
