"If I tried stand up, I think I might totally bomb" - Rasika Dugal

Actor Rasika Dugal is no stranger to the web space and even more so to the much-loved comedy web series, Humorously Yours.

As the show returned for a third season on Zee5, so much has been talked about the show having long gaps between seasons.

In an exclusive conversation with us, we asked the actor about the show's continuation, not doing much comedy and working with Vipul Goyal.

We haven’t seen you do much comedy apart from in this series. Is it a conscious choice? And how easy or difficult is it to do comedy that too alongside real-life comedians like Vipul Goyal?

Not a conscious choice at all. In fact, I would love to do more comedy. I totally enjoy watching comedy. I have done a fair share of it (comedy) on stage, and I do feel I have a flair for it . So hopefully someone will cast me in a good comic role soon. Let’s put it out there. Acting on screen and doing stand-up are two extremely different skill sets. And I admire the way Vipul can do both. But it's not a given that a good standup comic will be a good actor (whether in comedy or in any other genre). And the vice versa. I mean, If I tried stand up, I think I might totally bomb. But I think I will be good in a comic part on screen.
