Actress and voice artist Idina Menzel certainly seems to be in no mood to leave the world of fantasies. And we are not complaining. Menzel, who is best known for voicing the iconic Elsa in Disney's Frozen is now in talks to play a rather evil character in the upcoming film, Cinderella.
The legendary tale of Cinderella is getting made yet again and Menzel is in talks to play the role of the evil stepmother, Lady Tremaine. A while ago, it was reported that Emmy winner, Billy Porter is in talks to play the role of the fairy godmother to Cinderella. And when it comes to the central role of Cinderella, there isn't much known about that yet.
Apart from Menzel and Porter, Camilla Cabello has also been associated with the project already. Cabello came on to the project in April with “Blockers” director Kay Cannon attached to helm and pen the script. Cabello will be involved in the music for the project, which grew out of an original idea from James Corden.
The film will be produced by Corden and Leo Pearlman through their Fulwell73 banner. The new Cinderella will be a music-oriented version of the traditional tale of the orphaned girl with an evil stepmother.
