'I would not call acting work as I enjoy it', says Saurabh Pandey

The newest face of television Saurabh Pandey or the cute and innocent Chandan of Jiya Jale on 9X reveals what made him choose acting as a career at the young age of 19.

“I won’t say that acting is a career for me” says Saurabh. “I took up acting because it is something that I enjoy doing. I discovered at a very young age that I had a knack for entertaining people and decided to pursue it through acting. Given a chance, I wouldn’t mind spending the rest of my life entertaining my audience. As a child, I had a keen interest in becoming an engineer since I was always fascinated by machines. But my interest in creativity increased waning my interest in technicalities and I decided to follow my heart”, adds the ever-smiling Saurabh.

So will he continue working in television? “Firstly”, says he, “I wouldn’t call acting work. As Einstein says “I never worked” so do I, because acting is what I enjoy doing. And I don’t know if I will stick to serials, but I will definitely take up any good offers that come my way be it television, films, ads, music videos etc.”

About the role he plays in the 9X serial, Jiiya Jale, Saurabh says “Chandan is a very simple boy who always believes in being honest. He is someone who has his head on his shoulders and leads his life on the right track.” The track of the serial is a romantic liaison between Chandan and Sunaina and elaborating this, the actor says, “Initially there was a lot of friction between both of them but after a change of circumstances, they become closer and discover they have feelings for each other and the track now proceeds from thereon.”

And how does it feel being part of a top rated show “It’s exhilarating. I couldn’t ask for anything more, this being my debut serial. Siddhartha Basu ji is a genius, and it was amazing working under him and the whole unit is like one close knit family and we have a great time together.", says the cheerful Saurabh.
