TellyBuzz got in a candid chat with the actress Mukti Mohan to know about her upcoming plans, her views on the changing trends of television industry, the kind of roles that she would love to play and much more.

The talented actress Mukti Mohan has not only showcased her acting skills on television shows but  also showcased her dancing skills in some reality shows. Recently she was seen in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa - Dancing with the stars which aired on Colors, as a wild card entry in the show. She entertained the audience with her dancing skills.

It has been quite a long time that we haven't seen Mukti on-screen in any soap on television neither in any films. On the same we got in a candid conversation with Mukti Mohan to know about how has her life changed after doing the show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, when will we get to see her on-screen, her views on the changing trends of television industry, the type of roles that she is willing to play and much more.

Let's see what Mukti has to share with us...

How has life changed after doing the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa?

After doing the show Zara Nach Ke Dikha and Comedy Circus I had taken a break for nearly one and a half year from the industry. I took a break to learn and polish my skills towards acting. All that which I just forgot dancing as I did not pay any attention towards it. Then Jhalak Dikhla Jaa came my way and that was an opportunity which I did not want to let it go and I grabbed it. I was very much nervous after taking up that show as I was not dancing for a long time and this fear was there inside me that whether will I be able to do well with my dancing skills. But slowly things changed and I started improving. I actually started breathing while I was dancing.

Jhalak Dikhla Jaa has helped me learn different dance steps and forms. I feel that even if I would had taken any classes or workshop I wouldn't have had learnt as much as I learnt through the show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. What you learn while you are on the job is the best learning experience I believe.

The best part of Jhalalk Dikhla Jaa was that every week I used to enact something or the other in my performance and hence my acting skills were also getting polished at the same time too along with my dancing skills. My best act so far was the one where I played Shivji who is know as Devon Ke Mahadev and also the one where I paid a tribute to the flood victims.

How soon will we get to see you onscreen?

When something exciting comes my way. There are a lot of things in the pipeline especially in films but I am eagerly waiting for things to materialize and start soon. But very soon my viewers will get to see me on-screen.

Will we get to see you doing a daily soap?

Well for me there is not much difference between television and films. If I get an offer which will appeal me, just like the ongoing show 24 tele-series on Colors, I would be more than happy to grab the opportunity. A show which would come up with seasons, I am really open to that.

A role that you want to play onscreen?

There are many roles that I really want to play. To name any one would not be fair enough (laughs). But yes I would share a few, I want to play all real characters, the non-commercial and real characters are on my mind, which will be very strong and make an impact on the viewers.

The shows that you like to watch on television? If you are given an opportunity to be a part of that shows, then which role would you like to play?

I like Anil Kapoor's show 24 and the comedy show Comedy Night with Kapil. If given a chance to be a part of this show and play my favorite character then it would definitely be Gutthi from Comedy Nights with Kapil and the girls who crashed the plane in the show 24, their character was really strong. But if I want to give a challenge to myself then it would surely be the role of Mandira Bedi, her character is very interesting.

You have a lot of friends in the television industry. Which is your or was your favorite show of your Telly wood friend?

I remember watching the show Kitne Mohabbatein part 2. It was a very nice show after that show itself Karan Kundra and Kritika Kamra become my really good friends. Even the show Kuch Toh Log Kahenge which had Kritika Kamra in the lead role was a good show. I always keep a track of the show Gumrah, I regularly watch that show. It is not a daily soap but it brings into limelight the reality which is portrayed really well through this show. My friend Karan Kundra is also doing a fabulous job as a host of this show.

Nowadays the shows are judged through TRP as we all know. So what do you have to say about this TRP game?

I think there should not be only one creative. I would like to share an example, the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa was  the number one show because of the hilarious act segments of Manish Paul, Kapil Sharma. They both used to crack jokes and tickle the funny bones of the audience which they also  used to love it. Somehow segments are also planned by the creative people. There were 4 to 5 creative team to look after the creative aspect of the show which really helps a show to reach heights and at the same time entertain the audience. There should be a different way to deal with the creative side of the show. Many of the shows are working towards it and soon there is a new channel coming up Epic TV,I have heard that is also a good  channel.

Do you connect to mythological and historical shows on television?

Not mythological really but I connect to historical shows very much because they portray the facts which have happened in the past and we also read about it too. Historical shows are inspired by true stories and I really connect more to it. The upcoming channel Epic TV is really going to work well I feel.

Any topic you wish can be brought to limelight through the shows on television?

There are many topics which are to be brought into limelight and can be an eye opener. The best youth show till now is Gumrah and I am proud of the fact that my friend Karan Kundra is a part of that show. There are so many issues which can be shown in a positive way on television, just like any teenager who comes to become a star in the glamor world. His journey and much such stories which can encourage the youth of our country as the maximum of our population does watch television.

As Mukti said in the interview that she will soon be seen on-screen, we wish her all the best for her future endeavors.
