I was very scared when they told me that it is a multi-camera set up: Karam Rajpal

Handsome actor Karam Rajpal has make a comeback on television with Star Plus' new venture Mere Angane Main. He is playing a positive character and is paired opposite Ekta Kaul.

We got in touch with the actor to know about his upcoming show and character.

Tell us about your character?

My character name is Shivam Shrivastav who is a very sorted and a reserved person. He loves his mother and farther a lot but never expresses it because his grandmother has created distance between him and his father. Since he doesn't like his grandmother's dominating, he doesn't gel well with her. He loves his both the sisters a lot and they share the typical brother-sister relationship, who fight like animals but also love each other unconditionally.

As per the concept of the show, there are going to be clashes of ideologies between your wife and your grandmother. So whom you will be supporting on the show?

Basically, I will be seen supporting my wife. It's not that I will be only supporting my wife, will support my dadi also where I will fell that she is right. He respects his dadi but when he notice that his grandmother is doing things intentionally to hurt others, that's the time I don't support her. In short he remains neutral and takes a stand for the person who is right.

How difficult it is for you to shoot for one hour daily show with multi camera setup?

Honestly, it's a very easy thing. Initially, when we signed the contract, I was very scared when they told me that it is a multi-camera set up and will shoot mostly in one take. Basically, all the actors involved in a particular scene has to be perfect but as a human being we can't be perfect all the time. So, if me or any other actor fumble or forget the line then the entire sequence has to be done again from the start. But touch wood our cast is so talented and we have such great actors that mostly we do scenes in one take or maximum in two or three takes. I remember couple of days back, I was shooting with one camera which took an hour, but with multi camera we completed scenes in 5 minutes and that's the reason we are able to shoot for one hour daily soap.

Most of the actors have done theatre, so for them it's comparatively easy. Though I have not done theatre, I have been following it from quite a long time. So, I grabbed the art of acting from theatre artists by just watching them. I learned that how confident they are, how they manage to complete their scene in one go and many such things.
