I wanted to repeat 'Mehendi Hai Rachne Wali' pair Sai & Shivangi for 'Chashni': Sandiip Sikcand

SOL Productions and Sandiip Sikcand are all set to bring a new show for Star Plus titled 'Chashni'. The show features Sai Ketan Rao and Amandeep Sandhu in the lead roles. The story of the show revolves around two sisters having a major rift post which the younger sibling gets offended and ends up being the older one's mother-in- law.

India Forums got in touch with producer Sandiip and asked him about roping in Sai Ketan Rao for the second time for his new show post 'Mehendi Hai Rachne Wali', Sandiip said, "Honestly, I was very keen on repeating Sai and Shivangi both for this show. While the show was in the pre-production stage, I knew that I want them for my show as I feel they were under utilised in 'Mehendi Hai Rachne Wali' as the show shut shops within approximetly nine months. I also felt that both Sai and Shivagi fit the bill for the lead characters in 'Chashni'. "

He added, "When I narrated the story to Sai, he immediately said yes and was elated to be on board yet again but Shivangi had other plans. She wants to explore other mediums and want to do something for OTT platforms. I respected her decision as everybody is entitled to take a call on what they pursue. Even the channel was fine with repeating both of them as leads all over again but Sai worked out so we took things ahead. Both of them are like my babies. Sai fits the bill as Raunak Reddy. He is a good actor and quite popular, so that's why he is on board for 'Chashni'

Sai and Shivangi played the characters of Raghav and Pallavi in 'Mehndi Hai Rachne Wali' and enjoy a massive fan following. Fans lovingly call them 'SaiShi'.
