I wanted to embrace motherhood and experience everyday of the initial phases - Sangita Ghosh

Sangita Ghosh returned to Television with Colors' Swaran Ghar in the role of Swaran as we know. Now, she talks at length about her personal and professional balance.

What has been the best experience you have had as you play the role of Swaran?

It's the character i relate to. Swaran has a blend of it all and the connect with my audience has been immense so the best part of playing it has been of the connect with the audience through all age groups and how they feel, laugh and cry along with Swaran.

Away from home and family, how do you manage yourself?

It is definitely difficult specially staying away from Devi but I have to give all the credit to my husband who makes it so easy for me to be away and does not make it look like I am missing on much. The production too makes it extremely homely for me its like a family away from my own. So as much as I miss it and any time off I fly home or they come here.

Tell us about your big announcement of having entered motherhood with the birth of your kid. What is the most satisfying moment for you as a mother?

Motherhood itself is an experience the day you hold your baby in your arms it is overwhelming. I made the announcement in no rush I wanted to embrace motherhood and experience everyday of the initial phases and it has only been beautiful since then. It's a bond that only strengthens and with every passing day she becomes more the center of my life.

How is it to work with good actors like Ronit, Ajay and Hiten in Swaran Ghar?

They all are amazing co stars each come with their own skills and its par excellence. I love to create light moments while shooting and Hiten is my partner in crime, Ajay is a brilliant we are friends more than co actors and Ronit has been brilliant. I got to learn so much from him, I like to evolve and learning is the best way to do that....whether that comes from an actor senior junior or at par with you.

What are your takeaways from the role of Swaran? 

Patience 

Is there a dream role that had eluded you? 

Many but all the roles I've played thus far have been dream roles in some way or the other as well..I would love to do something on OTT so I hope that materialises soon enough thats on my bucket list.

Do you think there are ample opportunities in the TV industry today for a natural performer like you? Take us through your thoughts.

Television has evolved today more are experimenting with content and i think its lovely it gives an actor scope to perform. I have always loved my profession so when i get to do more of it in different ways of experimenting it gives me a high. Plus there are a whole lot of new actors who seem to know the craft so well and are so groomed the word start they also get to experience new ways of Television and its making. Today I feel there is space for more.

What would you tell actors who aspire to return to work after becoming mothers?

Becoming a mother is not a roadblock its an extension of you. it should not stop you it should motivate you.So for all the new mommies there pls do what makes you happy and if you have the support of your family nothing more blissful.
