Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are one of the most adorable Jodis of all time. The two dated for five years before tying the knot and their love story blossomed on the sets of Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and while it remained low-key for years.

But for Ranveer, love didn’t come that easy as he had to try really hard to impress her. And he impressed her with flowers.

Recently Ranveer engaged in a live conversation with football star Sunil Chhetri where he opened up about his career, childhood, and Deepika.

Talking about the time when he was busy wooing his ladylove Deepika, Ranveer recalled that he would buy lots of flowers for her. So much so, that his father once reprimanded him for spending so much money on flowers for her.

Singh said, “I was very sure that I wanted to marry this girl (Deepika) in six months of being in a relationship with her. I knew she loves flowers, lilies in particular. I wanted her to be mine for life. I was very diligent in wooing her. So, every time she would come, there would be flowers.”

He further opened up about his father and said, “I would also make short trips if she was shooting somewhere else. I remember my father once turned around and said, ‘do you realize how much money you are spending on flowers?’ and I replied, ‘Laxmi ke avatar me chappar faad ke aayenge (she’ll be an avatar of goddess Laxmi and money will rain on us).’ I used to feel that she is way away from my league. So, I did everything during the courting period.”

Ranveer credits Deepika for the success in his career. According to him, Deepika is much more evolved than him. She has not only guided him but has been a pillar of strength for Ranveer.

The 34-year-old star also felt that he wouldn’t have managed to cope with the pressures of being a movie star if she wouldn’t have been there.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer and Deepika were seen together in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat. Now, they will be seen reuniting for Kabir Khan’s ’83 where they will be seen reprising the role of Kapil Dev and his wife Romi Dev in the film.
