Star Plus is all set for one of the most awaited shows in the form of ‘Banni Chaw Home Delivery’. The show stars actors like Pravisht Mishra and Ulka Gupta in lead roles alongside a set of seasoned actors. The show revolves around a passionate and hard-working girl Banni, who believes in doing her job with perfection. Banni’s life changes when she is asked to take care of Yohaan, who is specially-abled. Banni brings a ray of light, love and laughter in Yohaan’s life.

Ulka will be seen donning the cap of a cook in the show. In a candid chat with India Forums, Ulka opened up on the reason why she took up the show, she said, “Somehow, people associate me with empowering roles post my stint in Zee Tv’s ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ and in more than one ways, I feel, Banni is also quite an empowering, inspiring and endowing character and that’s one of the reasons why I took it up. I remember when I received the offer, I wasn’t quite keen thinking that it would be a basic daily soap kind of a character but to my amazement, it is not. TV has evolved over the period of time and now there are many projects on TV that are close to reality and are relatable. We live in an era wherein start-up business blooming through social media is on a rise and Banni is an entrepreneur who’s set to start her ‘bijnees’ (business) from the scratch. All she has are hopes, determination, passion and of course- hard work”.

Talking about her co-star Pravisht Mishra in the show, Ulka said, “Well, I’d seen Pravisht’s previous work in ‘Barrister Babu’ as a relative of mine followed the show closely. When I came to know about the character Yohaan being a specially abled individual, I was thinking as to who can ace the role from the lot and I’m quite happy with Pravisht being onboard as I feel, he has brought a lot of relatability and vulnerability for the character and it is commendable”.

When asked about her offscreen bond with Pravisht, Ulka said, “Initially, he didn’t just talk. I remember asking him several times whether he feels intimidated by me but he said that he doesn’t. Since the unit knows him from their previous show, they told me that Pravisht needs a little push to gel along but when he does, he’ll soon get comfortable. After receiving this piece of information, I tried to initiate conversations with him. I’d also like to take the credit of making him a little more active on social media (laughs). To sum it up, it’s a decent start and I’m hoping that the audiences like our work. We’re quite similar in our approach towards the craft which really helps in the scenes”.
