Talking about her decision to take up the show Mandira says, "I am doing a fiction show after 9 long years. I
wanted to do fiction shows but nothing came my way as per my wish.
Suddenly after so many years I got the perfect opportunity and in no time I
grabbed it. The day I was offered 24, I also got another offer for a fiction show which had a very challenging character in it too, but the only thing was that the role required me to play a mother of 20 year old and I don't see myself playing a mother."
She goes on to tell us about the show and her character in it, "It is amazing to be a part of Abhinay Deo's show 24. I will
be seen playing the role of a cop who is a government agent. The role is
very challenging and I am enjoying being a part of this show. I have started shooting for the same, and I am now looking forward for
the show to go on air."
Talking about her director Abhinay, she further added saying, "I like the way Abhinay thinks... he is brilliant at his work. His professionalism can be seen in his work, hence working with him makes me feel very much alive."
About actresses making a comeback after a break, Mandira says, "It so happens in television that even the girls who are younger than me play the role of mother on-screen. If I return to this industry after a long time or if I have delivered a baby it doesn't mean that I will play the role of a mother onscreen. I can just not act as a mother to a 20 year old actress."
Mandira doesn't look like a mother to a 20 year old from any angle... She has gone back to her svelte self after having a baby boy two years back. How did she manage to get back to shape so easily? "I have been exercising as I wanted to loose the extra kilos that I had put up after my baby's birth. Now, it has become a routine and I have to exercise 4 days a week."
Mandira's fans who are eager to see her back on television will definitely enjoy her role as a cop in 24!
