The actor, who was seen essaying the character of Abhi in Zee TV's show 'Kumkum Bhagya' had an abrupt exit from the show recently. His fans, who were anticipating his return to the show were taken aback when the actor announced his new show 'Pyaar ka pehla naam: Radhamohan.' And now, he will be seen essaying the role of 'Mohan,' an effortless charmer, who has somehow lost his smile due to some unforeseen circumstances which took place in his life. Shabbir, who was seen promoting the show in Lucknow, the city of Nawabs, got in a conversation with us and spoke at length about the show, his characters, and a lot more. When asked what exactly is in the kitty for his fans and viewers in regards to the show and his character, Shabbir said, ''It is a story of a family from Mathura. The story is symbolic to Radha and Mohan, but it is given a modern touch. We start by showing Mohan's journey, someone who is not very happy with the way a few events unfolded in his life. The USP of this show is that we are not showing the story in a linear format. There will be a lot of back and forth in the story that will keep the audience engaged.''
The fans of the actor however are having a tough time accepting him in a new show and a new character altogether. When we asked him about all the comparisons and trolling he received when he announced his new show, the actor said, ''Everybody has opinions and I respect that. My fans are used to seeing me in a particular way and a particular character and I have received so much love from all of them over all these years, so this reaction is bound to happen. It is all their love that they keep sending in different forms through social media. I'd like to tell them that I really love them, but please keep it easy with the trolling.''
Shabbir's fans were eagerly anticipating his return to Kumkum Bhagya post the leap in the show. Ask him about the reaction of his fans to the announcement of 'Pyaar ka pehla naam: Radhamohan,' The actor said, ''I am not very active on social media. Sometimes I go online to check what is happening. I was as disappointed with quitting Kumkum Bhagya as my fans were since the show was very close to my heart too. I miss the show as much as they miss it, I miss being a part of the show, I really love the cast and crew of Kumkum Bhagya and I am really close to all of them, especially Sriti and Arjit and I miss seeing them every day.''
Shabbir became a household name with his stint on Zee Tv's longest-running show 'Kumkum Bhagya.' The actor had been essaying the role of 'Abhi,' a rockstar in the show and his chemistry with Sriti Jha had become widely popular too. He will now be seen opposite Niharika Roy in his new show "Pyaar ka pehla naam: Radhamohan' and the show is all set to hit the television screens from the 2nd of May, 8 pm on Zee Tv.
