“I lost almost 15 to 18 kgs for Sanjog,” reveals lead star Rajat Dahiya

Zee TV has been a trendsetter in shaping television content over the past three decades. Having narrated several stories that have resonated beautifully with audiences across India, Zee TV and Rashmi Sharma Telefilms recently launched – Sanjog. The mature family drama that showcases the intricacies of the relationship between two very different mothers - Amrita and Gauri, and their respective daughters, premiered on Zee TV recently and it has been receiving a lot of love and appreciation already!

While all the actors are working hard and putting in a lot of effort for the show, it looks like it was Rajat Dahiya who worked really hard to get into the skin of his character. For the uninitiated, Rajat was seen playing the role of a bulky fifty-five-year-old man in Zee TV’s Tujhse Hai Raabta. In fact, the actor had to put on a lot of weight to look his age. Now, to play a ripped 30-year-old, he had to lose about 15 to 18 kgs. For the same, the actor went through an epic transformation and looks fit as a fiddle!

I had to put in a lot of effort for the character of Gopal because earlier, in Tujhe Hai Raabta, I was playing a 55-year-old man, who was bulky. In Sanjog, I am playing a fit guy in his 30s. So, to get into Gopal’s character, I worked out regularly for more than 3 to 4 months while maintaining a proper and strict diet.

As Rajat mentioned, “I had to put in a lot of effort for the character of Gopal because earlier, in 'Tujhe Hai Raabta', I was playing a 55-year-old man, who was bulky. In 'Sanjog', I am playing a fit guy in his 30s. So, to get into Gopal’s character, I worked out regularly for more than 3 to 4 months while maintaining a proper and strict diet. Through this I have managed to lose almost 15 to 18 kgs and I have been maintaining this physique ever since then. I just hope the audience likes me in this new avatar and showers me with a lot of love and appreciation.”

While Rajat has put in a lot of hard work to get into the skin of this character, he is also really excited to witness the audience’s reaction to the twists and turns he brings to the tale. In the upcoming episodes, viewers will witness how Amrita will try to save her marriage, while Gopal continues to try and give Gauri and his family a lavish life!
