I like to do substantial roles - Vahbbiz Dorabjee

Our intention of interviewing Vahbbiz Dorabjee was to just speak to her about her show. But when we got talking to her, she turned out to be an open book. 

How did you bag Humari Bahu Ranji_Kant?

It wasn't tough. There were a few changes and I came aboard overnight. My friend Tanvi Thakkar recommended my name. Also, this is writers Sonali and Anil's show. They are a great team. And Sonali is a very talented writer. Also since the show's concept is unique, I took it up.

What made you take up the show?

I like to do substantial and not side roles. I also want to do justice to the character that I am taking up. And the advantage here was that I play a Punjabi in the serial and I look like a Punjabi. Many people have mistaken me for a Punjabi. So I thought why not take it up.

What is Vivian's reaction to the show?

Vivian is absolutely loving the show. He tries to catch up on the show as and when he has the time. And he always appreciates me.

Tell us something about your character.

It is a comic grey character. The new bahu has entered the house and she is perfect at everything and everyone is jealous.

What is your opinion on reality shows?

I would love to do Jhalak or Nach Baliye. I can not convince myself to do shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Vivian did KKK. And Everyone loved his performance.

Yes. My hubby is a full KKK personality. I pushed him to go ahead and do it. He is very sporty. And contrary to the fact that wild cards do not go till the finals, he reached the semis. He also made the most of his experience there. He performed fabulously. 

Lastly, Vivian is finally making his comeback on television.

I am very happy for his comeback. The whole family wanted to see him back on screen.
