Actor Nandish Singh Sandhu, who recently experienced the biggest high of his career with the success of the web show Jubilee, emphasizes emotionally detaching from personal experiences after using them in a performance.

Nandish shared, "Initially, when I started my acting journey, it was difficult for me to snap out of the character, and eventually that did affect my mental health to an extent. I feel that as actors, we should learn to detach ourselves from the characters we are playing; otherwise, we can really get have a long lasting impact on our mental and emotional health at times.

Additionally, the Jubilee actor also shared  a method that works for him the best without becoming overwhelmed or compromising his emotional well-being. "So I leave the character behind on the set and come back. Not that I don't think about it when I'm back home; I do, but from a detached place. I always look at the character I am playing from a distance when I'm not in front of the camera." .

Nandish also added, "I would feel that character's pain, happiness, anger, sadness, or whatever emotion from a place of detachment. But when I'm in front of the camera, I need to feel the same detachment from myself as Nandish. Then I am the character that I'm playing, and I need to detach myself from Nandish. And that is something that has happened over time, and it has made life much easier for me." concludes Nandish
