Over to Arpita…
How was your journey in Indian Idol?
My experience was really very great I never expected that I would reach till this stage. I felt bad when I got eliminated. I saw my parents in front of me but I never knew that I will reach Top 8 of Indian Idol. I always thought of taking one step when I passed my audition. I focused myself on going to Mumbai audition then when I cleared Mumbai audition I thought of going into Gala round. When I entered in Gala round I wanted to win Indian Idol but that didn't happen. God must have planned something better for me.
Were you prepared that you will be eliminated?
As per my previous performance I never thought that I would get eliminated. I had always been in bottom due to voting, so this time also I considered that I would be in bottom, but yes I was prepared mentally for the elimination. But it's not end… I will work hard and I have talent so I will definitely get work.
Did you feel homesick since you stayed here away from your family?
Yes, I did a lot I never stayed alone in my whole life, without my family. Initially, when we came here they took away our phone and when they did that I told them that I would quit the show. It was very bad. Then I got lots of friends after which I felt better but still I used to feel home sick. Now that I am out I am just waiting when will I go home.
Who did you get along with well among the contestants?
Tia, I was very close to her.
How did the judges' comments help you?
I used to feel bad when I used to get negative comments from the judges but when then I realized that whatever they are saying is for my good. When they used to say about sur I had taken positively and tried to improve accordingly.
Who has been your favorite judge on the show and why?
Sunidhi Chauhan, since childhood I used to idolize her and she was my favorite judge.
Can you tell us who you feel will reach the top 3 in this season of Indian Idol?
Everyone is a good singer but according to me Sriram Bhaiya, Shivan Bhaiya and Sashi Bhaiya will be in top 3 in this season.
Now that you've gained recognition, what is your next step?
I got lot of recognition. Now, I have my BA first year exam on 15th July. I will clear that and then take lessons on music, groom myself and definitely will make name in Bollywood industry.
